Make sure you get yourself teh right size so the shoes hugs your foot in its loving and oh so comfortable grip. If you have sweaty feet like I do wear them with socks for awhile. Doing thus helps keep your feet warm even on very cold days (by very cold I’m talking teens with lower wind chills) as well as helping to keep the shoe cleaner. I like to wait until spring to de-sock then wear them around and let my feet contour the inside of the shoe. When you do this the inside will slowly conform perfectly to your foot. So much so in fact that a friend tried to borrow my last pair to run out to her car only to find that they were incredibly uncomfortable to her. Meanwhile the same shoe was like a slipper or glove to me.
Be patient with these shoes and you will most definitely be rewarded with comfort and a long lasting shoe. I’ve had Berk’s last 10 years and you won’t find a better deal then on Amazon.

Could have been the narrower size, could have been the fact that they were new, but even now after a two month wear-in, they seem shorter than my Birks by a few millimeters, and of course, narrower. I am used to these now, and they look great, and the quality seems very good.
Birkenstocks tend to last me 2-3 years of daily wear, so we shall see if these last that long. I am betting they do not, but even if they get halfway, they would still be a value, since they still look new and they cost so little.
I plan to by Birks next time, but if your feet are not wide like mine, maybe these are a good value for you–certainly they are no disappointment.
