Chaco Women's ZX2 Sandal

Secure & comfortable fit! No icky velcro to pick up bits of debris. Order a size up if you are at all on the large side of a whole size. I Love these so much I bought a second pair after realizing the first pair were a tad too small. I did not feel my toes were well protected.
Worth the price especially on sale!

I’m a rave for the Chaco Z1 - the king of comfort. If you’re trying to really get somewhere you’ll appreciate the control the extra toe loop the Z2 gives you. The Z1’s open toe are is lovely and non-restricting for lounging around and casual strolls, but can slip around a bit when climbing or torquing.

Either way - Chacos are the best: After years with Tevas I have Chacos a try. I’m a true believer. Chacos rule for 3 reasons:

1) Amazing sculpted footbed. Chacos have real arch and heel support - probably the best of any shoe I own.

2) Awesome Vibram soles. The soles are tough as nails and truly trail grade - like a pair of top notch hiking boots. There are lots of sole options on Chacos - and all are excellent.

3) Superb strap arrangements. The lightweight easy to clean Chaco strap design is quick and easy to fit, superbly comfortable, and is the easiest to get into and out of of any sandal. There’s no hardware (like Teva’s plastic join rings). There is only one single cinch to tighten or loosen getting in and out. You initially adjust fit by pulling the straps tighter or looser through the rubber footbed. It’s easy and once your done the straps stay put.

The whole thing is so lightweight and non-intrusive on your feet - almost like being barefoot - except for the amazing lug soles and superb supporting footbed. Highest recommendation.

Caveats? The aggressive diamond pattern on the footbed gives great grip - but it can hurt tenderfeet when the shoe is new (it wears down to comfort after a week or two). If it’s hurts you too much you can sand it down a little. Also, the deeply sculpted foodbed design is not for folks EE or wider. I have E width and just barely work. Normal width is only width offered. I wear a 14 and am delighted they make up to size 14.

Chaco Women’s Z2 Sandal Review

Chaco Women's Z2 Sandal

I have worn MANY different shoes. I used to be all heels and dress shoes, but then I had knee surgery. With my bad knee I needed something that would work for support. I went on an Outward Bound Course in June of 2002. My course instructor had some. She demonstrated the flexible straps and the other fun attributes that chaco had to offer. It took me a few years to figure out the name of the shoe, but when I finally discovered them I had to have a pair.
I picked out the perfect color and the perfect size. Chacos were actually the first thing I ordered online. Amazon should be happy I did because they are the best purchase I’ve ever made. I’ve worn my chacos through some pretty trying times. Through about 20 national parks, working as a camp counselor, bartending, and SO many more! My only wish was that they came in brown and they have those now too!
My entire family now wears chacos and for my mother’s reconstructive ankle surgery that’s saying a lot! She says that they’re the only shoe that make her foot feel better. Notice she didn’t say not hurt, but better

I don’t care what style you get or what color. JUST ORDER SOME!

These Chaco’s are a bit pricey when trying to buy sandals but they are worth it. They are comfortable and classy but they are also tough enough to go hiking in! I am curious just how long they will last?
